Santana concert at White River Amphitheater
I am fortunate enough to have one of the best Aunt's/God-Mother's in the world...she had been planning to go to the Santana concert and due to unforeseen circumstances, ended up having an extra ticket. Guess who was offered the ticket and swooped up on that opportunity? You got it....this guy. I haven't been to too many concerts in my life but appreciate good music, and when you have the option to see someone as talented as Santana...you take it. I went with my Aunt Drusilla, Aunt Carol and Drusilla's friend Wendy...that's right, myself and 3 ladies. The concert was actually in close proximity to Mt. Rainier and I was constantly trying to get a good pic of it...this was about the best one I could muster.
Not bad but I am hoping to get a better one soon. The closer we got to the amphitheather the closer we got to the mountain...I had anticipated getting a fantastic shot and ended up getting this.
That was pretty much the theme of the night...everytime there was a photo op there was a tree, some kind of pole, or a cop in the way. After being foiled so many times to get a award-winning pic, I focused on Santana where the theme continued. I got about 3-4 pics at the exact moment that one of the singers would walk right in front of Carlos....what the?!?! I did manage to get this one...my favorite one of the night.
Guess I can't complain, although while I was getting these pics I went into the setting on my camera phone and realized I wasn't using it to it's full potential. I realized I can take panoramic pics and adjust the settings to accomodate landscape, lighting, and action...among other things. I am thinking I need to retrace my drive out here and get proper pics...maybe later.
Anyways, the concert was awesome. You can really appreciate the talent that Santana possesses and all of the instruments he incorporates in his concerts. He did take some time to speak his mind and address a few things politically, he is pretty idealistic...I don't see anything wrong with that, I just wish that some of the things he had to say had a legitimate shot of coming to fruition. All in all he was on stage for about 2 hours or so and I am grateful for the opportunity to go and see it on such a gorgeous night.
This first week has been full of excitement and will continue through the weekend...I hope that the good times keep a coming and that I am open and willing enough to partake in all of it. Part of the reason I came was to experience new things and I have to be open to try new things to fully realize this. Well...that should be good for now.
Until next time all...take care, god bless, and much love.
