Slowing down...

After a non-stop first week things are starting to calm down a little.  After the soccer game and houseboat on Saturday I participated as a 'support team' for swimmers crossing the lake...I was on a canoe with my uncle Stephen and cousin Christian.  I had to wake up at 5:45 so we could get out on the lake...it was kind of chilly and really early(duh).  Our job was to guide the swimmers to the other side and step in if we saw anyone struggling to make it, I am happy to report that all the swimmers made it safely with no incident.  It was a little foggy that morning but it looked really cool crossing the lake and seeing the fog roll across in front of you...after getting into the canoe and rocking side-to-side I realized it wasn't the best idea to have brought my camera. I envisioned ending up wet at some point but that didn't happen...phew.

I figured I would go home and take a nap after that...but that didn't happen.  Did some running around and then finally met up with my aunt Life and her 2 daughters, Promise and Destiny. Grabbed a bit to eat and then went with them as they went school shopping.  Actually, Life and I sat and caught up on everything while the girls went off and modeled clothes for each other.  It is awesome to have the opportunity to be around so much family and get to know them...my immediate family is in Minnesota but there is an abundance of extended family in Seattle that I haven't had the opportunity to get to know.  Life's kids are great kids, tough for me to keep up as the have tons....and tons of energy but it is fun to hang out with them all the same.  Life snapped this pic of Destiny and myself.

After Sunday it was all about the R&R...I almost feel bad but I barely set foot outside the house on Monday.  Oh well, after all the events leading up to Monday I needed a day to catch up and relax.

I thought it would be fun to hang out with the kids on Tuesday and do some exploring...Promise thought it would be fun to go to Snoqualmie Falls and I had to agree.  If I had done some research I might have realized that the trails were closed due to construction, but we don't plan that far ahead.  We were still able to view the falls, just not able to walk the trails down to them...kind of disappointing but that's how it goes sometimes.  Still got to spend some quality time with the kids and it is always interesting learning peoples personalities....and these kids have personality.

Slightly disappointed it was time to head home, stopped in and treated the kids to Subway and then called it a day. Oh well, there is plenty of time to see what Washington has to offer...I just have to remember to do it.

BTW...found out today that my very close friends the Biegler's welcomed their little bundle of joy to the world today.  Congrats guys, I am proud and excited for the both of you to start this chapter in your lives....best of luck.  Have fun with those diaper changes Biegs.....MUAHAHAHA!!

Until next time all...take care, god bless, and much love.
